Roger Barrett James

U.S. Business Attorney | International Legal Strategist | Based in Poland

I’m a California-licensed attorney and international business consultant with over 25 years of legal and commercial experience. Based near Łódź, Poland, I specialize in helping Polish companies succeed in cross-border transactions—especially with U.S. and English-speaking partners. My mission is simple: provide world-class legal guidance, rooted in real business understanding, to help clients navigate complex international matters with confidence.

I work with companies across Poland and abroad to:

I bring not just legal expertise—but strategic, bilingual, cross-cultural insight developed through decades of hands-on experience in law, business, and international trade.

At the Intersection of Law & Global Business

Since 1998, I’ve advised clients in areas ranging from business formation and M&A to civil litigation, compliance, and intellectual property. I’ve also held executive and legal leadership roles at international companies, including as General Counsel and Director of International Sales & Marketing for Unifire AB, a high-tech Swedish manufacturer of robotic firefighting systems.

I am the Managing Director of James Enterprises, a business consultancy in Poland, and a former litigator in California law firms, including Parker Stanbury LLP and Ericksen, Arbuthnot, Kilduff, Day & Lindstrom.

My legal and business experience spans:

I’ve also lectured at UCLA and taught continuing legal education and legal research at the college level.

Outside the Office

When I’m not working, I enjoy running, fitness, languages, and exploring science and technology, including AI. I’ve traveled to more than 30 countries and love learning about new cultures, especially through food, people, and history. I live with my family in Poland, where we embrace both our Polish and American roots.
